Carnival
Carnival in Maastricht is a unique, traditional spectacle that turns the city upside down every year!
Starting Wednesday, February 11th, various activities will take place throughout the city. From Friday onwards, the streets will be filled with vibrant red, yellow, and green colors, creating a festive atmosphere. The Prince of Carnival takes the key to the city and assumes control, marking the official start of Carnival 2026!

Shops will remain open on Saturday, but starting Sunday February 15th, they will close their doors to fully embrace the carnival festivities.
The Boonte Störrem, the famous carnival parade, will wind through the city, bringing thousands of people together for a colorful and lively spectacle.
